Calcite Nanocrystals Investigated Using X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy

For the present work, calcite nanocrystals were grown by annealing precursors at 500 °C. These obtained three different thermal schemes. Among these schemes, two involve heating 100 °C for 16 h and + 24 h, respectively. In third scheme, was performed followed 300 h. X-ray diffraction studies, Fourier transform infrared Raman spectroscopic exhibited formation of phase calcium carbonate. Transmission electron microscopy showed that particle sizes synthesized in range 25–40 nm. Onsets shape change also observed with using measurements. absorption spectroscopy envisaged coordination numbers Ca-O Ca-Ca shell not influenced schemes; however, bond lengths shells modified.
